The outbreak of Ebola in West Africa in March 2014 had the potential to become one of the worst infectious-disease-driven humanitarian crises of recent times. With fie countries affected (Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria, and Senegal), more than 6500 cases of probable, confimed, and suspected Ebola reported, and over 3000 deaths, this Ebola outbreak was the largest ever seen.
